Youth Charged in Oshawa Knife Incident

A 13-year-old girl has been taken into custody following an incident in Oshawa where she allegedly threatened another youth with a knife. The altercation occurred on October 8, 2024, around 4:35 p.m. near Simcoe Street North and Britannia Avenue. Police from the Central West Division responded to reports of an armed individual. During the confrontation, the suspect reportedly chased the victim with the knife, resulting in minor injuries to the victim.

The suspect, a resident of Oshawa, faces charges including assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and failure to comply with a release order. She was held for a bail hearing.
