Woman Dies After Bus Shelter Collision in Pickering

A woman died following a collision at a bus shelter in Pickering, Ontario, on Thursday afternoon, according to the Durham Regional Police Service.

Police stated that the incident occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Kingston Road, east of Whites Road. Emergency crews responded and found a female pedestrian with serious injuries. She was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver involved remained at the scene, according to police. No charges or further information about injuries were reported in the initial statement.

Kingston Road in the vicinity was closed for several hours as officers began their investigation. Police requested that any witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage from the area around the time of the incident contact them.
