Whitby Santa Parade Causes Transit Detours

Durham Region Transit has announced detours for bus routes in Whitby due to the Santa Claus Parade scheduled for Saturday, December 7, 2024. The parade will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, affecting routes 302 and Pulse 900.

Route 302 Baldwin – Brock

• The service will operate via Rossland Road, Garden Street, and Burns Street, between Brock Street and Rossland Road, and Brock Street and Burns Street.

Pulse 900 – Highway 2

• The service will operate via Garden Street, Burns Street, and Annes Street, between Dundas Street and Garden Street, and Dundas Street and Annes Street.

Temporary bus stops will be placed in both directions on Dundas Street, west of Annes Street. The following temporary stops will be served:

• Dundas Street eastbound and westbound at Annes Street.

• Burns Street eastbound and westbound at Brock Street.

• Garden Street northbound and southbound at Dundas Street.

• Rossland Road eastbound at Brock Street.

These changes are necessary due to road closures in the downtown Whitby area during the parade.
