Whitby Police Operation Leads to Major Drug Seizure

A police checkpoint in Whitby on February 9, 2025, led to the seizure of a large quantity of crystal meth. The Durham Region Police Service conducted a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) line at the intersection of Consumers Drive and Garden Street, resulting in the interception of nearly five kilograms of the drug.

A 34-year-old individual from Oshawa was arrested during this operation. According to the Durham Region Police Service, the suspect faces charges that include possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

Following the seizure, the accused appeared in court in Oshawa. These proceedings are part of an ongoing investigation by local law enforcement.
