Veterans' Square Reopening Ceremony Scheduled for October 15
The Municipality of Clarington and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 178 will hold a commemorative ceremony on October 15 at 1 p.m. to mark the reopening of Veterans' Square in Bowmanville. The renovated space now includes five flag poles, raised gardens, accessible seating, paved pathways, a service animal relief area, and several mobility device charging stations. The ceremony will feature a series of events led by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 178, including the Marching of the Troops, a Welcome and Land Acknowledgement, and the Last Post followed by two minutes of silence. Temperance Street will be closed from King Street to Church Street from noon to approximately 2 p.m. to accommodate the ceremony. Metered parking will be available on nearby streets, with additional parking in municipal lots.
