Veterans' Crosswalk Approved for Bowmanville

The General Government Committee of Clarington has approved the implementation of a Veterans' Crosswalk at the intersection of King and Temperance Streets in Bowmanville. This decision was made during the meeting held on December 2, 2024.

The crosswalk is intended to serve as a permanent memorial to honor those who have served in the Canadian Forces. The location was chosen due to its proximity to the cenotaph and its significance as part of the annual Bowmanville Remembrance parade route.

The design and maintenance costs of the crosswalk will be managed by the Deputy CAO/Treasurer. The Bowmanville Legion Branch 178 will be consulted on the design, and they are invited to participate in the opening ceremony scheduled for November 11, 2025.
