Upcoming General Government Committee Meeting on Community Projects

Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan

A draft of Clarington’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan (PRCMP) will be shared, which has incorporated input from over 3,000 individuals, including residents, community organizations, staff, and council. The plan outlines current strengths and opportunities in Clarington’s parkland, programs, and services, as well as future needs through 2036.

South Bowmanville Recreation Centre

An update regarding the design plans for the South Bowmanville Recreation Centre will be presented to the council.

Bowmanville Community Park (former Zoo Lands)

The committee will present an updated concept for the Community Park on the former lands of the Bowmanville Zoo, which has been developed with community feedback. The vision includes integrating the park into the broader trail system while honoring the site's natural and cultural history.

Jury Lands

The committee will discuss the future vision for the Camp 30 cafeteria building on the Jury Lands, which was transferred to the Municipality in December 2021. The Municipality is collaborating with the Jury Lands Foundation on this project.
