Two Women Arrested in Oshawa ATM Theft Attempt
Two women were apprehended following an attempted theft of an ATM in Oshawa. On October 7, 2024, at around 1:00 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious vehicles near Winchester Road East and Simcoe Street North. Upon arrival, officers found a van and a pick-up truck in a parking lot. The pick-up truck fled, dragging an ATM, and was pursued by officers into a cornfield where the female suspect fled on foot but was subsequently arrested. The van was found to be stolen, and another woman in the van was also arrested.
Sabrina Warren, 30, from Clarington, faces five charges including possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and theft over $5000. She was held for a bail hearing. Elisabeth McLaughlin, 33, from Whitby, faces six charges including possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, disguise with intent, and theft over $5000. She was released on an undertaking.
