Two Firearms Seized During Traffic Stops in Clarington This Week

Durham Region Police Service (DRPS) reported the seizure of two firearms during traffic stops on Clarington roads this week. These incidents occurred as part of the DRPS R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program, which aims to enhance road safety.

• On the first occasion, officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered a firearm in the vehicle. The driver was subsequently arrested.
• In a separate incident, another traffic stop led to the seizure of a second firearm, with the driver also taken into custody.
