Two Arrested in Oshawa for Stolen Vehicle and Drug Offenses
On November 13, 2024, two men were apprehended in Oshawa following an investigation into a stolen vehicle. The incident occurred around 9:10 p.m. near King Street West and Park Road South. Officers from the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) identified a suspiciously parked SUV and RV, with checks revealing the RV was stolen. Upon police arrival, two suspects fled on foot. One was captured after a brief pursuit, while the other was found hiding in the SUV. A search of the vehicles uncovered a rifle, ammunition, and various drugs.
Jonathan Englehart, 37, from Prescott, faces charges including possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and possession of Schedule I substances for trafficking purposes, specifically methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and hydromorphone.
Jesse Holmes, 34, from Oshawa, is charged with similar offenses, including improper storage of a firearm.
