Two Arrested for Attempted Vehicle Theft in Whitby
Two males were arrested in Whitby for attempting to steal a vehicle. The incident occurred on September 19, 2024, at approximately 2:15 a.m. in the area of Capstan Court and Swordfish Drive. Officers from Central West Division responded to the scene and apprehended the suspects. The first suspect tried to flee in his vehicle but was blocked by police. The second suspect fled on foot but was captured shortly after.
The suspects, Michael Luciano Williams, 20, and Abdikarim Burgal Hassan, 20, both from Toronto, face multiple charges. These include Prowl at Night, Attempt Theft Over $5000, Possess Break-in Instruments, and Mischief Over $5000. Both suspects were held for a bail hearing.
