Traffic Stop in Oshawa Leads to Drug Charges
Three individuals have been charged following a traffic stop in Oshawa where a significant quantity of drugs was discovered. On October 20, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers from the Central West Division conducted a traffic stop near Olive Avenue and Cadillac Avenue South. Upon approach, the driver exited the vehicle and attempted to flee, leading to a brief foot pursuit before being apprehended. Two passengers remained in the vehicle.
During the search, conducted under the Cannabis Control Act due to observed signs of cannabis use, officers found a handgun holster, drug paraphernalia, and over 1,990 Dilaudid pills. The individuals charged are:
- Jayden Malual, 18, from Oshawa, charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Dilaudid).
- Coady Daniel Crowe, 18, from Oshawa, charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Dilaudid) and unlawful possession of a Schedule I substance (Oxycodone).
- Aniruddho Kazi, 21, from Oakville, charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (Dilaudid).
All three individuals were held for a bail hearing. The investigation is ongoing, and the charges have not yet been proven in court.
