Toronto Man Charged with Impersonation to Engage with Minor
Christian Senato, a 29-year-old from Toronto, has been charged with multiple offences after allegedly pretending to be a 15-year-old boy on Snapchat to establish a relationship with a 13-year-old girl. Special Victims Unit of the Durham Regional Police Service revealed that the suspect presented himself as a teenager on the social media platform, meeting the victim and beginning a relationship that later became physical. The victim contacted authorities once Senato's true age was discovered.
The charges filed against Senato include sexual assault, sexual interference, and luring a person under 16. He is currently awaiting a bail hearing. Durham Police are requesting anyone with additional information to contact D/Cst. Kavanagh of the Special Victims Unit.
The allegations are yet to be proven in court.
