Toronto Man Arrested for Firearm and Drug Possession

A 29-year-old male from Toronto has been arrested following an investigation by the Durham Regional Police Service's Gun and Gang Unit. The investigation led to the seizure of two loaded firearms, a quantity of drugs, and a vehicle.

On December 3, 2024, search warrants were executed at a storage locker and a residence in Toronto. During the search, officers found a loaded Glock 19, a loaded Ruger LCP, ammunition, an overcapacity magazine, and an automatic selector switch for a Glock handgun. Both firearms were identified as originating from the United States. Additionally, a 2020 Range Rover and various drugs were confiscated.

The individual, identified as Vladimir Hussain-Marca, faces multiple charges. These include unauthorized possession of restricted/prohibited firearms, possession of loaded firearms, possession of prohibited devices, possession of a firearm while prohibited, and possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine. Hussain-Marca was held for a bail hearing.

The police have requested that anyone with information regarding this incident contact the Gun and Gang Unit. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers, with potential eligibility for a cash reward.

These allegations have not yet been proven in court.
