The Municipality of Clarington will implement new speed limit signs in school zones, reducing the speed limit from 50 kilometres per hour to 30 kilometres per hour. The installation of these signs is scheduled to take place over the summer months, with completion aimed for the start of the 2024-25 school year. The affected schools include S.T. Worden, Courtice North, Dr. Emily Stowe, St. Mother Teresa, Dr. G. J. MacGillivray, Lydia Trull, Good Shepherd, Enniskillen, Hampton Junior, Orono, Newcastle, St. Francis of Assisi, and Charles Bowman, among others. The initiative is part of the municipality's efforts to enhance safety for students in school zones.
