Three Arrested Following Collision with Stolen Vehicle in Clarington

Three individuals were apprehended following a collision involving a stolen vehicle in Clarington. The incident took place on December 18, 2024, at around 1:55 a.m. near the intersection of Brown Street and King Street East. According to the Durham Region Police Service, the vehicle, a black Honda SUV, veered off the road and struck a light post.

The vehicle had been reported stolen, and the occupants fled the scene on foot. Police quickly apprehended the suspects without further incident. The arrested individuals are identified as Anthony Robert HENRI, 33, from Ajax; Mark Anthony WINTELS, 65, from Ajax; and Justin Jeremy COBURN, 27, from Clarington.

HENRI faces charges including possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and driving while under suspension. COBURN is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and failure to comply with an undertaking. WINTELS is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

Following their arrest, HENRI and COBURN were held for a bail hearing, while WINTELS was released on an undertaking. The Durham Region Police Service provided this information in a media release, noting that the investigation is ongoing.
