Third Arrest Made in Clarington Donation Fraud Investigation

The Financial Crimes Unit has arrested a third suspect in connection with the fraudulent sale of booklets purportedly supporting the Clarington Flames Hockey Association. On August 14, 2024, the owner of JSMarketing was arrested. The Clarington Flames Girls Hockey Association is not affiliated with the suspects and has not received any donations from the sales. The coupon books are legitimate, but the proceeds were not directed to the Clarington Flames, and the suspects were not acting on behalf of the organization.

Jamie B. McCormick, 46, from Whitby, is charged with Fraud Over $5000. He was released on an Undertaking.
