Temporary Closure of Central Ganaraska Forest for Building Demolition

The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority has announced that access to the Central Ganaraska Forest will be temporarily closed on December 9th and 10th, 2024. The closure is due to the demolition of the gymnasium building located on the Ganaraska Forest Centre grounds. This building has reached the end of its life, necessitating its removal.

During the demolition, access to the Central Forest Trailhead and the Ganaraska Forest Centre grounds will be restricted to ensure public safety. The demolition requires the use of heavy machinery and trucks, which will operate near the main entrance, posing potential hazards to visitors and their vehicles.

The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority has requested public cooperation during this period to facilitate the timely completion of the demolition process. For further details, individuals can contact the authority at 905.885.8173 or via email at info@grca.on.ca.
