Teen Charged After Alleged Threats to Ajax School
A 15-year-old female from Ajax has been charged following an investigation into threats made against a school. On October 30, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the West Division Central Investigations Branch (CIB) of the Durham Regional Police Service received information regarding a potential threat to Archbishop Denis O’Connor Catholic High School in Ajax. The threat was reportedly made via a Snapchat post, where the suspect allegedly stated intentions to "shoot up a school" in Ajax.
Following the investigation, police identified the suspect and took her into custody at her residence on October 31, 2024, at approximately 1:20 a.m. No weapons were found at the location, and police have stated there are no current concerns for public safety.
The 15-year-old has been charged with uttering death threats and was released on an undertaking. The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to contact D/Cst. Baumgartner of the West Division Criminal Investigations Branch.
These allegations have not yet been proven in court.
