SWNAMAC Details Activities and Plans in Annual Report

The Samuel Wilmot Nature Area Management Advisory Committee (SWNAMAC) delivered its annual report to the General Government Committee on February 3, 2025. The report was presented by Kate Potter, Chair, and Thomas Hossie, Vice-Chair, focusing on activities and future plans related to the Nature Area.

During the presentation, the committee outlined its mandate and provided a geographical overview of the Nature Area. Noteworthy were the ongoing and completed community projects, aimed at enhancing natural habitats and supporting local wildlife. These efforts have been implemented with the participation of volunteers and local organizations.

Potter and Hossie also discussed numerous community engagement activities conducted over the past year. These initiatives were designed to educate the community on sustainable practices and emphasize the ecological significance of the area.

For the year 2025, the committee announced additional projects. These upcoming projects are set to further improve the ecosystem and expand community involvement opportunities.
