Suspect Arrested Following Shooting Incident in Pickering
On October 11, 2024, at approximately 6:30 a.m., a woman reported to the West Division that she had been shot at while driving in Pickering. The incident began at a Tim Horton's located at Toy Avenue and Bayly Street, where a vehicle honked at her. As she drove west on Bayly Street, the suspect vehicle attempted to catch up. The victim tried to evade the suspect by turning into the Pickering GO Station parking lot, but the suspect threw a coffee at her car before driving away. The suspect then made a U-turn and shot at the victim's vehicle near Liverpool Road, shattering the driver's side window. The victim sustained minor injuries.
The suspect, identified as Creaton David Hinds, 46, from Ajax, was arrested later that evening. A loaded handgun was found on him, and a search of his residence led to the seizure of additional firearms. Hinds faces multiple charges, including attempted murder and possession of a loaded firearm. He is being held for a bail hearing.
