Speed Limit Reduction and Safety Zone Planned for Beaverton

The Regional Municipality of Durham, in partnership with the Township of Brock, is set to implement a speed limit reduction in Beaverton. The new speed limit of 40 kilometres per hour (km/h) will be enforced on designated roads in the area. Additionally, a new community safety zone will be established.

The speed limit signs will be installed on Simcoe Street (Regional Road 15), from Mara Road (Regional Road 23) to John Street, and on Osborne Street/Mara Road (Regional Road 23) from Bay Street to 165 metres north of King Street West. The community safety zone will be located on Osborne Street/Mara Road, from 185 metres south of Wood Street to 125 metres north of Franklin Street. An existing community safety zone is already in place on Simcoe Street between Osborne Street and 475 metres east of Madill Street.
