South Bowmanville Recreation Centre Development Update

During the General Government Committee meeting on October 15, 2019, discussions regarding the South Bowmanville Recreation Centre included the approval of the proposed facility program. The committee referred the Phase I project budget of $48,005,300 to the 2020 budget deliberations. Additionally, the committee authorized staff to complete the application for funding for this project under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program. A motion was carried to report back to the Council meeting on October 28, 2019, regarding the cost of adding a wellness/fitness component in place of office space totaling 5,600 square feet. The proposed changes were part of the ongoing development discussions for the recreation centre, aimed at enhancing community recreational facilities.
