Resident Participation in #HeartYourParksClarington Campaign

In June, more than 1,000 residents participated in the #HeartYourParksClarington campaign by sharing photos and stories, attending community events, and coloring flags that showcased their enjoyment of local parks. The flags, which depicted various activities such as swimming, basketball, and biking, were collected and are now displayed at Clarington recreation centers across the municipality. This initiative aimed to highlight the community's love for its parks and open spaces, reinforcing the importance of parkland amidst recent legislative challenges affecting parkland dedication in new developments. Mayor Adrian Foster emphasized the need to send a clear message about the value of parkland, thanking residents for their engagement in the campaign.
