Request for By-law to Regulate Feeding Seagulls

During the General Government Committee meeting on March 29, 2021, Janet Moher presented a request for a by-law to regulate the feeding of seagulls. Moher stated that her neighbors have been feeding seagulls from spring until winter, leading to an increase in the bird population, which she claims results in excessive droppings on her property and potential health risks due to diseases carried by the birds. She urged the Council to consider creating a by-law to prohibit feeding seagulls in residential areas. The Committee resolved to refer her request to the April 19, 2021 General Government Committee meeting for further discussion.
