Request for All-Way Stop Sign at Devondale St. and Firwood Ave. in Courtice

During the General Government Committee meeting on September 27, 2021, a request for an all-way stop sign at the intersection of Devondale St. and Firwood Ave. in Courtice was discussed. Mike Brannan presented his concerns regarding the safety of the intersection, citing near accidents and advocating for the stop signs since 2019. Following the presentation, Councillor Jones moved a resolution directing staff to install the all-way stop sign as soon as possible. This motion was carried and later amended to include a requirement for a by-law to amend By-law 2014-059 to regulate traffic and parking, which was to be brought forward to the October 18, 2021, Council meeting.
