Renewal of the Lakeridge Health Public Access Defibrillator Program Agreement

The General Government Committee of Clarington met on March 20, 2023, and discussed the renewal of the Lakeridge Health Public Access Defibrillator Program Agreement. The committee received Report CSD-001-23, which recommended that the Council authorize the Director of Community Services to sign the agreement provided by the Central East Prehospital Care Program (CEPCP) on behalf of Lakeridge Health. This agreement will be in effect from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2026. Additionally, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) was authorized to approve subsequent renewals of agreements related to this program. The continuation of this program is expected to have positive implications for public health and safety in the community, as it enhances access to defibrillators in public spaces, potentially saving lives during cardiac emergencies.
