Recall of Fromagerie des Grondines Cheeses Due to E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall for certain Fromagerie des Grondines cheeses due to the potential presence of generic E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The recall affects several products, including "Tomme des galets raw sheep goat milk semi soft," "Raclé," "Clos des roches raw milk firm paste," "Foin-de-grèves," "Grondines," "Le Grand 2," "Tomme de la chevrotière raw goat milk semi soft cheese," and "D'eschambault." All units sold up to and including December 5, 2024, are included in the recall.
These cheeses have been distributed in multiple regions, such as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec. The recall is classified as Class 3, indicating that the use of or exposure to the product is not likely to cause adverse health consequences.
Consumers are advised to avoid consuming the recalled products and to dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase. The recall is being monitored by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
