A public meeting has been scheduled to discuss a proposed zoning by-law amendment for Bethesda Ridge Farms. The meeting will take place on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. and can be attended either online or in person at the Council Chambers, Municipal Administrative Centre, 40 Temperance Street, Bowmanville. Written comments are encouraged to be submitted prior to the meeting. Interested parties can also request to be added to the list to receive updates regarding this application.

Bethesda Ridge Farms has submitted an application to split off a part of the farm with an additional dwelling on it, following the consolidation of farmland with another location nearby. The zoning change would prevent future splitting or residential development on the remaining larger piece of land and would also prohibit housing animals in the existing farm buildings as required by the Minimum Distance Separation (MDS) formulae. Additionally, it would legalize the heights and size of three existing accessory structures on the farm’s proposed additional dwelling lot.
