Port Perry Woman Charged with Fraud Over Minor Hockey Team Funds

A woman from Port Perry has been charged with fraud following an investigation into the misappropriation of funds for a North Durham Minor Hockey Team.

On August 20, 2024, the Financial Crimes Unit concluded its investigation into the fraudulent spending of funds during the 2023-2024 hockey season. The suspect, who served as the team manager, allegedly embezzled funds intended for team expenses. She was taken into custody without incident.

Jennifer Henry, 42, has been charged with Fraud Over $5000. She was released on an undertaking.

The allegations have yet to be proven in court.
