Police Seek Suspect in GO Train Assaults
Durham Region Police are investigating two separate assaults that occurred on GO Trains on the evening of November 11, 2024. The incidents took place at the Pickering GO Station.
The first assault happened around 7:40 p.m. A woman traveling on the 6:50 p.m. eastbound train from Union Station was attacked by a male suspect who struck her in the face multiple times before leaving the train. The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Approximately two hours later, at 9:20 p.m., a second woman was assaulted on the 8:20 p.m. eastbound train from Union Station. She managed to reach an adjacent train car where other passengers assisted her until police arrived. She was also hospitalized for her injuries.
Police believe the same individual is responsible for both attacks. The suspect is described as a Black male, aged 25-30, with a medium build and short braided hair. He was last seen wearing a black and white sweater with a Toronto Raptors logo, black and grey pants, and white and black shoes.
Authorities are requesting assistance from the public to identify the suspect. A photo is available on the Durham Regional Police Service website.
