Police Seek Suspect After Whitby Traffic Stop Incident

Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man who fled a traffic stop in Whitby. On August 9, 2024, at approximately 2:20 a.m., officers from the Central West Division stopped a suspicious vehicle near Brock Street and Dundas Street. During the stop, officers saw a firearm under the front passenger seat. The driver fled the scene after officers demanded he exit the vehicle. Police pursued the vehicle briefly but discontinued the chase shortly after.

Paul Andres Fernandez, 27, from Ajax, is wanted for charges including Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance, Flight from Peace Officer, and Obstruct Peace Officer.
