Police Seek Public Help to Locate Suspect in GO Train Assaults

Durham Region Police are seeking assistance from the public in locating a suspect involved in two assaults on GO Trains. The suspect, identified as Christopher Otoo, 31, from Clarington, is wanted for multiple charges including Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Theft Under $5000.

The incidents occurred on November 11, 2024. The first assault took place around 7:40 p.m. on an eastbound train from Union Station, where a female passenger was struck in the face multiple times. The second incident happened at approximately 9:20 p.m. on another eastbound train.

Police have released a photo of the suspect, which can be viewed on their website. They urge anyone with information about Otoo's whereabouts to contact Detective Constable McCubbin at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 3828. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers.

The allegations against Otoo have not been proven in court.
