Police Investigate Arson in Oshawa, Seek Public Assistance
On October 6, 2024, a fire occurred in a residential area of Oshawa, specifically at Eddystone Path and Okanagan Path. The fire, which has been classified as arson, caused extensive damage to multiple homes, with damages estimated to exceed $2 million. Fortunately, the occupants of the affected residence were able to evacuate safely, and no physical injuries were reported.
The Durham Regional Police Service is seeking assistance from the public in their investigation. They are requesting anyone with cell phone, dashcam, or surveillance footage related to the incident to come forward. As of now, multiple suspects are still at large, and no arrests have been made.
