Plans for Veterans' Crosswalk in Bowmanville Announced

The Municipality of Clarington has approved the creation of a Veterans' Crosswalk at the intersection of King and Temperance Streets in Bowmanville. This initiative aims to honor Canadian Forces veterans by establishing a permanent memorial in a central location. The crosswalk will be situated near the cenotaph, a site of significance during the annual Bowmanville Remembrance parade on November 11.

The Bowmanville Legion Branch 178 will be involved in the design process and has been invited to participate in the opening ceremony, which is scheduled for November 11, 2025. The financial aspects of the project, including costs and maintenance, will be managed by the Deputy CAO/Treasurer.
