Planned Sports Court Upgrades at Stuart Park

The General Government Committee has approved plans for significant upgrades to sports courts at Stuart Park. A budget of $300,000 has been allocated for the resurfacing of the tennis courts and basketball court. Additionally, one of the existing tennis courts will be reconfigured to create four new pickleball courts. The resurfacing of the Guildwood Park tennis courts is also included in the plans. Funding for the expansion of the pickleball courts at Stuart Park will be sourced from Development Charges, while the installation of lights at Stuart Park will be financed through the parkland dedication fund. Staff have been directed to collaborate with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board regarding the courts at Courtice Secondary School. These resolutions were referred to the 2021 Budget for further consideration.
