Pedestrian Injured in Oshawa Vehicle Collision
A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Oshawa. The incident occurred on November 12, 2024, at approximately 4:15 p.m. at the intersection of Rossland Road West and Simcoe Street North. A 20-year-old female was driving a pick-up truck southbound on Simcoe Street North and attempted to turn right onto Rossland Road West when she struck a 21-year-old female pedestrian crossing the street. The driver stopped and assisted the pedestrian until police arrived.
The pedestrian was taken to a trauma center in Toronto with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The Durham Regional Police Service's Collision Investigation Unit is conducting an investigation into the incident. The area was closed for several hours as evidence was collected. The investigation is ongoing.
