Pavement Rehabilitation Scheduled in Bowmanville and Newcastle

The Municipality of Clarington has announced that road improvements will begin in Bowmanville and Newcastle starting the week of October 7, 2024. The work will be conducted by GIP Paving Limited and includes the removal and replacement of asphalt surfaces, concrete sidewalks, and curbs. Additional tasks involve asphalt paving, traffic line painting, and restoration works.

The specific locations for the roadwork in Bowmanville include Luverme Court, Rebecca Court, Pamela Court, Avi Court, Sydel Court, Gary Court, Aspen Springs Drive (from Green Road to Fry Crescent), Flett Street (from Parkway Crescent to Southway Drive), and Parkway Avenue (from Parkway Crescent to Parkway Crescent). In Newcastle, the affected areas are Andrew Street (from Mill Street to Arthur Street), Andrew Court, Willow Court, George Street (from Beaver Street to Andrew Street), Sylvia Court, and Orchard Heights Drive (from Andrew Street to 80 meters south of Andrew Street).

During construction, lane reductions and short-term closures will occur, potentially causing traffic delays. The contractor has stated that garbage and recycling services will not be interrupted. The completion of rural locations is expected by the end of November 2024, with other areas finishing by the end of July 2025. These timelines are subject to change based on weather and other factors.
