Partnerships Supporting the Durham Greener Homes Program

The Durham Greener Homes Program is supported through partnerships with Windfall Ecology Centre, local municipalities, and energy utilities. This collaborative effort aims to enhance energy efficiency and address climate change in the region. The program includes the newly launched Virtual Home Energy Assessment Tool (vHEAT), which utilizes artificial intelligence to provide homeowners with a digital energy score and customized recommendations for reducing energy consumption. Additionally, the program offers access to cash back incentives and low or zero interest loans through government and utility-run initiatives. Funding for the program is provided through a $3.4 million investment from the Community Efficiency Financing initiative, part of the Green Municipal Fund delivered by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and funded by the Government of Canada.
