Oshawa's Bloor Street West to Face Lane Restrictions

The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced that lane restrictions will be implemented on Bloor Street West (Regional Road 22) in Oshawa. These restrictions are set to start on February 25 and continue until March 10, 2024. The reason for these restrictions is the relocation of Enbridge Gas infrastructure, a necessary measure ahead of a planned capital works project.

The area affected by these restrictions stretches in both eastbound and westbound directions, from Thornton Road South to Stevenson Road South (Regional Road 53). Access to local businesses, the Durham College Oshawa GO/Via Rail station, and its parking lot will remain open, although motorists may experience the need for additional travel time.

Residents and motorists are advised to exercise caution while traveling through the area to ensure safety for all, including pedestrians, cyclists, and work crews. Up-to-date traffic information, along with a live interactive map of current construction projects in the region, is available at durham.ca/TrafficWatch. This site provides essential details on road conditions and advisories.
