Oshawa Stabbing Incident Leads to Arrest of Local Male

A male has been arrested following a stabbing incident in Oshawa.

On Sunday, August 4, 2024, at approximately 12:55 a.m., officers from the Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the vicinity of Simcoe Street South and Mill Street. The incident involved two males engaged in a verbal altercation, which escalated to one male being stabbed.

The victim was located a short distance away by officers, who initiated life-saving measures. He was subsequently transported to a trauma center in Toronto with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

At around 8:30 a.m., police located the suspect in the area of Simcoe Street South and Albany Street. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Anthony Murray, 35, of no fixed address, has been charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public
  • Failure to Comply with a Probation Order.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information, including cellphone or surveillance footage, is encouraged to reach out to the police.
