Oshawa Man Charged with Multiple Child Pornography Offenses

A 30-year-old male from Oshawa has been charged with multiple offenses related to child pornography. On July 31, 2024, the Durham Regional Police Service's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit executed a search warrant at the suspect's residence. The suspect was believed to be involved in the creation and distribution of child pornography using the Telegram app under the usernames 'C Ja' and 'Nomey6969'. Several electronic devices were seized during the search.

Analysis of the seized devices revealed numerous child pornographic materials and plans to travel for the purpose of committing sexual acts with minors. On August 30, 2024, the suspect was arrested again by the ICE Unit with assistance from the Offender Management Unit (OMU) and charged with additional offenses.

The suspect, identified as Christopher Jackson, faces charges including possession of child pornography, making child pornography, distributing child pornography, agreeing to commit a sexual offense against a person under 16, accessing child pornography, and multiple counts of failing to comply with probation orders and sexual offense conviction orders. Jackson was held for a bail hearing.

The police have expressed concerns that there may be other victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward. A photo of the suspect is available on the Durham Regional Police Service website.
