Oshawa Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

An investigation by the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit has led to the arrest of a male in Oshawa on charges related to child pornography. On August 30, 2024, the ICE unit received information regarding a suspect allegedly involved in the making and sharing of child pornographic content online. Following this, officers executed a search warrant at the suspect's residence, where multiple electronic devices were seized.

The individual, a 38-year-old male from Oshawa, has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Possess Child Pornography
  • Make Child Pornography
  • Make Available Child Pornography
  • Access Child Pornography

The name of the accused is withheld to protect the identity of the victim. He has been held for a bail hearing.

The Durham Regional Police acknowledged the support received from the Canadian National and Ontario Provincial Strategies aimed at protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation on the internet, which was made possible through a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
