Oshawa Man Arrested for Firing Gun Inside Home
A 43-year-old man was arrested early Monday in Oshawa after allegedly discharging firearms inside his residence. Durham Region Police reported that officers were called to the area of Montrave Avenue and Hillside Avenue at approximately 3:10 a.m. on March 17, 2025, following reports of gunfire.
The suspect, identified as Eric Jones of Oshawa, was located and apprehended by police while walking on the street with a rifle. The arrest occurred without incident, according to the police. Subsequent investigation revealed that multiple rounds had been fired inside the home.
Jones has been charged with several offenses, including possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, reckless discharge of a firearm, careless use and storage of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device, and possession of a Schedule I substance.
Following his arrest, Jones was held for a bail hearing.
