Oshawa Man Arrested Following Jewelry Theft and Knife Incident

A 20-year-old male has been arrested in Oshawa following an incident involving theft and a reported assault with a weapon. The event took place on November 20, 2024, near Hillcroft Street and Ritson Road South. According to Durham Regional Police, the suspect met with a victim under the pretense of purchasing jewelry listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

The suspect allegedly took the jewelry and attempted to flee from the scene. The victim gave chase and managed to retrieve the jewelry. During the confrontation, the suspect reportedly brandished a knife before fleeing. Officers from the Central East Division responded to the call, and after further investigation, the individual was located and arrested.

Investigations are ongoing as police continue to gather details on the case.
