The General Government Committee of Clarington approved additional funding for the Orono Town Hall Elevator Project during its meeting on November 9, 2020. The resolution, moved by Councillor Zwart and seconded by Councillor Anderson, stated that the report CSD-012-20 be received and that the additional funds as indicated in the report be approved. The motion was carried unanimously.
The Orono Arena has reopened following a $3 million renovation. The upgrades include a new refrigerated floor under the ice pad, updated changing rooms and shower areas, and new rubber flooring throughout the facility. Additionally, the ice pad has been fitted with new rink boards and a heated penalty box.
