Ontario Tech and Lakeridge Health Collaborate on Healthcare AI Solutions

Students from Ontario Tech University recently collaborated with professionals from Lakeridge Health in the Catalyst Challenge. This event is part of the Partnership for Advanced Technology in Health Care (PATH) and was organized by the Brilliant Catalyst to address health-care challenges using artificial intelligence.

During the eight-day event, interdisciplinary student teams developed technology-driven solutions to various health issues. These projects were presented to judges from both Lakeridge Health and Ontario Tech, who evaluated the submissions. Awards were provided in categories including Social Impact and Sustainability, Technical Innovation, and Market Readiness.

Winning entries like Axis, MedRoute, and NavConnect, each presented unique approaches aimed at improving healthcare services. Awarded teams will continue to develop these projects at the Brilliant Catalyst Business Incubator with financial and mentorship support.

A notable perspective on the event was shared by Dr. Ilan Lenga, Chief Information Officer of Lakeridge Health, who commented on the innovative nature and educational impact of the challenge.
