Ontario Opens Applications for $400 Million Infrastructure Fund

The Ontario government will begin accepting applications for funding under the $400 million Housing-Enabling Core Servicing stream starting August 21. This funding is part of the $1 billion Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program aimed at building, maintaining, and repairing municipal roads, bridges, and culverts to support new home construction.

Of the $400 million, $120 million is allocated to projects in small, rural, and northern municipalities without housing targets. This allocation aims to address the unique needs of these communities.

Municipalities can submit applications for projects that include new construction, rehabilitation, repair, reconstruction, or replacement of road and bridge assets that enable housing infrastructure and promote community growth. More information on the program and application process is available at ontario.ca/housinginfrastructure.

The remaining funding under the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program will focus on other key infrastructure priorities, including maintaining the health and safety of local water and wastewater systems. Details on this funding, including eligibility and application intake, will be announced later this year.
