Ontario Invests $27 Million in Carpentry Training

The Ontario government has announced an investment of nearly $27 million to enhance carpentry training across the province. This funding is directed towards constructing a new training facility in Sudbury and expanding existing facilities in London, Windsor, Cambridge, and Ottawa.

The initiative, part of the Skills Development Fund, aims to train over 2,600 additional carpenters and construction workers. The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBCJA) is set to receive up to $13 million to support this training effort. Specific allocations include $3.2 million for a new facility in Sudbury and $1.8 million for expanding the Windsor location.
