Ontario Allocates $1.8 Billion for Primary Healthcare Access
The Ontario government has announced a plan to invest $1.8 billion to connect two million more residents to a family doctor or primary care team over the next four years. This initiative is part of an effort to ensure that all individuals in the province have access to primary healthcare services.
The investment comprises $1.4 billion in new funding, supplemented by $400 million already allocated to primary care. The plan includes the creation and expansion of 305 primary care teams, aiming to attach approximately two million people to these services.
